Making its debut this year, Match Chat will be available on the Wimbledon App and website, allowing fans to ask real-time questions during live singles matches. Whether it’s querying who’s converted more break points or who’s dominating the match, users can receive instant, AI-generated insights to enrich their viewing experience. Built on IBM’s WatsonX Orchestrate and powered by AI agents and large language models like IBM Granite, Match Chat is trained in the language of tennis and Wimbledon’s editorial style. It will also be accessible post-match via IBM Slamtracker for select key matches.
The enhanced Likelihood to Win feature offers dynamic win projections, calculated using a blend of player statistics, expert opinions, and match momentum. The tool is powered by IBM’s technology stack including Red Hat OpenShift, which enables fast and scalable deployment across platforms.
